This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) constitutes a part of our Terms of Service and outlines our practices for collecting, using, storing, protecting, and disclosing Personal Information. Any capitalized terms not defined in this Policy are defined in our Terms of Service.

Please read this Policy carefully to understand our privacy practices and make informed decisions about how we treat your Personal Information.

We reserve the right to change this Policy from time to time. (See “Changes to Our Policy” below). If so, we will notify you through our website located at https://www.parentnetwork.io (“Website”). Such modifications will be effective as of the date at the top of this Policy. Your continued use of this Website and/or Services after we modify this Policy is deemed to be acceptance of those changes, so please check the Policy periodically for updates.

  1. Scope of the Policy

This Policy applies to Personal Information collected, used, stored, or disclosed when you interact with Parent Network:

  • Through our Website.

  • When you interact with third-party websites or services that refer to this Policy in relation with our advertisements or Services.

Except as set forth below, it does not apply to information collected by any third party, including through any access, reference or link made available on our Website and/or Services (including advertising) and information that is not considered Personal Information, such as information available from public government records or deidentified or aggregated consumer information.

  1. Children’s Privacy

We care about protecting the online privacy of young children. This section explains our collection, disclosure, parental consent practices and parental choices available with respect to the Personal Information provided by children under the age of 13 in accordance with the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”).

Our Website and/or Services are not directed to or intended for minors under 18 years of age. However, we may collect Personal Information about children directly from you, as a parent or legal guardian. We may also collect Personal Information directly from children with your prior and verifiable consent when you purchase or book Activities (as defined below) from our Website and/or Application.

Collection

  • Parent Network Account. As a Parent Network User, you provide us your Child’s name, year of birth, sex, school name and interests. We do not ask you to provide the full name of your child and allow you to use pseudonyms instead of your child’s first name in your Parent Network Account. All details about your children except for year of birth are optional and we require your child’s age to allow for planning of age-appropriate activities. Children cannot use our Website and/or Application to create any type of user profiles, enroll in Activity Partner Offerings, communicate, or interact with other Parent Network Users or Activity Partners through the Website and/or Application. Children may only participate in Activity Partner Offerings or User Activities purchased or booked for them by their parents (collectively “Activities”).

  • Activities. During online Activities, we may require your child to turn his or her camera and microphone on to verify that he or she is actually a child (and not an adult acting under false pretenses) and for his or her participation in the Activity. During the Activity, children may share information about themselves or transfer media, such as images. Children’s full names may be visible based on your preferences in teleconferencing or videoconferencing applications. We require all Parent Network Users and Activity Partners not to record any audio or images during online Activities.

Some Activities may require the use of third-party tools, platforms, or services, as disclosed, and specified in the description of the Activity. We do not control or facilitate the use of such third-party tools, platforms, or services and they may collect, use, store or disclose your child’s Personal Information based on their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for, nor do we systematically monitor those third-party tools, platforms, or services. We encourage you to review the privacy notices for such third-party tools, platforms, or services to understand their privacy practices.

Use, Storage and Disclosure

Once we obtain verified parental consent (if necessary), we may use, store and disclose Personal Information collected from children for the same general purposes described in this Policy.

We may share, or allow you to share, the name, age, school name, interests, and any notes you have provided about you with the Activity Partners or other Parent Network Users for them to provide and deliver Activities to children. Other Parent Network Users may conduct searches on the Website and/or Application based on your child’s interests and school (as specified by you in your Parent Network Account) to filter relevant Activities.

During an online Activity, children’s video image and voice audio and potentially background images of their home and family members, and other Personal Information outlined under the title “Collection” are shared with the participants of the Activity, which may include other children, Parent Network Users, individuals who are authorized by the Parent Network User to accompany his or her own child, Activity Partners and Parent Network Staff (“Participants”).

Please be mindful that any file or information shared by your child may be downloaded by the Participants and be available to other individuals who use the same shared device. We are not able to control nor responsible for all Personal Information your child may choose to share with other Participants, nor what those third parties ultimately do with that information. We encourage you to accompany and supervise your child during the Activities and review your child’s submissions.

Your Verifiable Consent

We will require your verifiable parental consent before collecting, using, and disclosing Personal Information directly from your child through Activities. We may use the following methods to obtain verifiable consent:

  • When you register your child for a paid Activity, we verify your consent when you provide your credit card or other payment information to our payment processor.

  • If you register your child for an Activity which is free of charge, we verify your consent when you register by logging in to your Parent Network Account, which is only accessible and controlled by you as a parent. For an added layer of security and verification, we require Parent Network Users and Activity Partners to use password protected access links, which become only available to parents through the Website and/or Application.

  • In case we are not able to verify your consent with any of the methods outlined above, we may use knowledge-based authentication, which includes asking you specific challenge questions, or ask you to join the video call to provide consent.

If you choose to provide any Personal Information of your child to Parent Network or provide verifiable consent for us to collect Personal Information from your child, you consent to Parent Network’s collection, use, storage, and disclosure of the minor’s Personal Information pursuant to this Policy.
